As all of you know Allen has worked this little farm all his life, when his father died he wanted to carry on with what his father had done all his life, so we "bought the farm". It hasn't been easy, an expensive undertaking to say the least. But he honestly loved taking on the challenge. His oldest brother Virgil has been so supportive by taking on the maintenance of the tractors, he is an awesome mechanic and his love of restoring and keeping this farm equipment in working order has truely been a blessing to Allen in his efforts to keep this farm productive. Allen's younger brother Ralph and his family have been such a support in the last few years also in helping him to keep things running and now his nephew Andrew had stepped in to work the farm also. Such support from good family is beyond comprehending there were not words to express their support. But alas, yesterday morning at around 3am we were awoken to the call that the tractor shed was on fire. All was lost, luckily Virgil's garage and Andrew's woodworking Barn were safe.
The men are in shock to say the least, to watch something that your family has done for the last 160 years gone in just a few hours is such a hard thing to take on. My heart is hurt for Allen, all he wanted to do was to keep working at something that his father and family had worked at all these generations to keep going. All things happen for a reason, we will find out with the Lord's help where we are to go from here. These men have had alot on their plates lately to even try and keep up and it has been a struggle to have the time and energy to get all done that is needed to on the farm. We do have insurance but not to replace all that was lost it will not cover even a fraction of the replacement cost, like a "spit in the bucket". So we trust in the Lord and know that He is here and will guide us along the way. He knows what is best for all.
"Lead us, guide us walk beside us.... and We will know the way".

I am so sorry to hear about this. I can't even imagine...
Thank you so much, we realize these are just things. and there are others that have such greater losses. But some things are just hard. We know all will work out for the best. Thank you again.
Terri Alice:)
Terri and Allen,
Teele and I are so heart broken for you and your loss. Even though it's just "things" it's what he and past generations worked and labored at to support their families for nearly 200 years! It is a big deal and you have a right to feel the loss. Being married to a rancher and watching his family farm/ranch I know the blood, sweat, tears, sacrifice, love and prayer that goes into it. The land becomes part of your family so I really feel for your loss. We will keep you in our prayers. You are right about the Lord he does have a hand in all things and one day you will recognize his work in this. Again our family is praying for you.
WOW. I didn't realize how long it had been since I last checked your blog. I am sorry to hear about the fire. That must be heartbreaking. I hope that things are getting better with all of it.
